Additionally, participants are invited to join head coach Jerry Moore and members of the ASU football staff for a social/cookout on the night before the event at the La Quinta Inn in Boone. The May 14 event begins at 6 p.m.
To register, visit GoASU.com or contact the ASU football office at (828) 262-2501. Registration deadline is April 24.
Spring Fling benefit
ASU’s annual Spring Fling will benefit the Why The Woods non-profit organization spearheaded by former Mountaineer defensive back Billy Riddle.
Spring Fling will be held April 24 from 1 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at ASU’s Duck Pond Field located on Stadium Drive, just north of Kidd Brewer Stadium. The family-friendly event features inflatable games, carnival activities, live music and more. ASU students, faculty, staff, family and community members are invited to attend.
Bracelets for admission to the event can be purchased in advance at ASU’s Plemmons Student Union for $3 or at the event for $5. All proceed will support the efforts of Why The Woods as they build wells and provide other basic human needs in Sudan.
Riddle sat out the 2007 football season in order to serve as a missionary in Sudan. He returned for his senior campaign in 2008 but intends to return to Sudan to continue his service to the people of the war-torn African nation. For more information, visit whythewoods.org.
